Hi there,

over at SOH I came across those screenshots...

... of a fictional aussie 377. I cannot, however, find this paint at all. Has anyone seen it somewhere??? I'd love to get my hand on an aussie 377 to fly around FTX so any tip where to find this jewel would be highly welcome.

The repaint is from Matt Levi (jeansy) as far as I know.

Thank you for your help.

Yes, the Qantas is from him too. But I cannot find this new one anywhere. It would be especially nice to have since it alredy uses the new SP1-effect for aluminium. I cannot dig it up though.

you will find that the fsx qantas one i got from AVSIM or any repaint of b377 pre SP1 will not need updating as it uses the textures from b377 so it will already have the new aluminium paint job on it.

I'm not so sure about that. I read that the alpha channels need to be changed. Anyway, I'm still looking for this particular paint scheme here.

well all i can say is it worked on mine i didnt change anything and the new aluminum look came through no probs i too thought it would need to be changed until i read in post on forum here somewhere that it uses the texture from the b377 folder itself and not new texture files and when you installed SP1 new textures were written over the old ones therefore your repaint jobs should shine throughwith the new textures ...

you could ask Rob or Scott to confirm this to make sure i could be wrong but my Qantas aircraft has the new Aluminu texture and i dint change anything.

why dont you download it and see for yourself if it does then great if not no harm done is there..

I tried it but for me the old paints look ... "old". They don't have the needed changed alpha layer so the new metal reflection is not as nice as on the updated paints the SP1 comes with.

Has nobody seen this aussie 377?

Yes, the alpha channels need to be adjusted to match/achive this new aluminium look.

regards
ROB

Ok, now that this is cleared up let's turn back to the initial question. Has somebody seen this beautiful aussie 377 somewhere (to download)? It's a post-SP1-paint but I cannot find it anywhere.

That looks more like an RAF repaint to me. RAAF aeroplanes generally use a roundel where the red dot is replaced by a red kangaroo. RCAF uses a red maple leaf and the RNZAF use a red kiwi in the same positions.

From memory this repaint was shown to us, but I seem to remember that it was a private scheme and not uploaded. I've had a quick search through these forums but not refound the post I'm afraid.
