I was wondering if anybody could do the paint scheme on the P-40C in Everett Washington. It would look great on the Wings of Power P-40. Registration number NX2689.

Re: P-40 Repaint Request
Isn't this more or less the same as the AVG birds already done?stearmanaviator wrote:I was wondering if anybody could do the paint scheme on the P-40C in Everett Washington. It would look great on the Wings of Power P-40. Registration number NX2689.
If not, a few more detailed pictures might help.

Re: P-40 Repaint Request
Hoi Jankees,
When you want to do this repaint, the textures by RobH and John 'Bomber_12th' Terell for the FS2004 P40 by Bruce Thorson might be handy. The AVG aircraft with number 71 (P-8119) was flown by Ed Overend and Ed Shilling.
For Stearmanaviator, the repaint is very similar to the one done by ICDP for AVG aircraft number 77.
Best regards,
Huub

Re: P-40 Repaint Request
I live in Faribault, Minnesota and I haven't had the chance to make it out to the museum in Everett, Washington yet. But I plan to get out there some time in the near future.

I'll tackle this one when I get back from my next fieldtrip, about mid-june.
Meanwhile, a good pic of the red girl(?) would be helpful if anybody has one?

Re: P-40 Repaint Request
Here is a link to a P-40 very similar in color but from a different squadron; 1st squadron, "Adam and Eve."
I'm not a fan of this paint due to it looking to shiny and not a flat color like most of the war time paint jobs. I too would like to see some authentic pictures of a Flying Tigers P-40 to determine if they were that glossy.

Hi Jankees, excellent work you have done with the P-47, P-40 and the PBY Catalina. I have some of your paint kits and are great.jcblom wrote:anybody know of more pics?
I have a good picture of the lady you were looking for, just one part of the foot cut but you can fix it with photoshop..
