DX10 effects on lights...lights go out on frontal views..?

Post by bk2000 »

8/8/13: Hello from AZ, Just installed lights on the 'default' aircraft in FSX. For me, when DX10 is 'ON' the lights 'go out' on front angled views. Appears they get blocked by something.
But, when DX10 is 'OFF' the lights appear show up in all view angles...?

FSX Default Mooney Bravo with DX10 ON: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/560/oim9.jpg/

8/9/13: In the pix above the shockwave file was: fx_shockwave_landing_light.
I like using DX10, as it helps FSX to run smoothly, fewer micro-studders, hey?
Well, now, after changing the Shockwave strobes on this plane, the landing lights appear to be working fine...??? beats me.

Hello,

The lights where not designed for the dx10 preview mode. I'm not 100% sure if they work in dx10 mode given the changes this preview makes to the way the sim runs and the also optional 3rd party dx10 'fixes'. We have found that dx10 mode, due to its very nature of being an unfinished preview, can and will run differently on different systems. It is my understanding that some of our customers do use dx10 and the 3d lights ok though again I cannot be 100% sure.

thanks,
Lewis
