3D Lights setup hint

Post by ggiarda »

I just want to share something forum readers could find useful for the "perfect" light configuration of their 3rd party add-on.
And I apologize if my "finding" has been already posted by someone... (didn't have the time to read all new posts!)

As already most of you know, the process for making taxi or landing lights (attached to gears) switch off in the moment the gear is raised up is the following:

For LANDING LIGHTS add the following line to the airplane panel.cfg. file;

[Vcockpit01]
gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

For TAXI LIGHTS add the following line to the airplane panel.cfg. file;
[Vcockpit01]
gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_taxi_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

where XX is the first available number in the list of commands under the [Vcockpit01] section

I found out that for some types of aircraft (like Carenado B90 and B200 King) both taxi AND landing lights are attached on the front gear...
Well? You have to simply add BOTH types of line under the [Vcockpit01] section of the panel.cfg file!

like this:
gauge07=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light
gauge08=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_taxi_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

(numbers 07 and 08 are just for example.

With this add, both taxi and landing lights will switch off as soon as you raise the front landing gear!
Have fun! :D
