Active Sky Graphics Settings - any modifications needed ?

Post by GabethePilot »

Hi All,

Just bought redux for FSX.

I remember some time ago, seeing something about AS Graphics causing problems with runway lights etc.

Does installing redux lights, overcome these problems ? Does it matter which settings for runway lights I choose in the Active Sky Graphics menus ?

Thnx in advance for any tips.

Hi GabethePilot,

there could be an unwanted interfering effect between both programs. Some add-ons replace certain files like i.e. the "halo.bmp" in the "texture" folder. This could be the reason for your problem.

Please try this: re-install the 3D LIGHTS REDUX software and do not touch the setup of active sky afterwards (what ever it is by now). Maybe this could bring up the 3D LIGHTS REDUX runway lights again.

I hope this will solve your problem (without being actually certain about it). I am just a user...

Best regards

Hi Sweets,

Yes, I think that ASG replaces a bunch of runway lights etc.

This may be creating problems when I'm comparing the effects - such as in my F16.

I think however, that I can uncheck the runway lighting boxes in ASG....so I can still install new graphics themes without affecting the Redux setup.

So, I'm gonna reinstall Redux, and make sure that I don't mess it up when I use a new theme in ASG.

I'm also gonna try REX....and I guess that might have runway lights and so forth....so care is needed I guess.

Thnx.
