Re: Aerosoft PBY Catalina config request
Thanks for your reply by move do you mean just add the // to the top set of the config or copy the bottam set and over write the top set I am not very good at this sort of thing so maybe if you could show it as it should look after the edit would help me sorry if I am a bit dumb at this kind regards Mike

Re: Aerosoft PBY Catalina config request
The // is a code symbol for a 'remark' and when FSX (or FS2004 for that matter) reads the file it will ignore anything on that line after the // symbol.
If you add // in front of all the lines in the upper section (below the [Lights] line) and remove all the // symbols from the start of each line in the lower section (DO NOT remove the // marks toward the end of the line as those are still required) the sim will act on the lower data instead of reading only the upper section as it stands at present. In game that means that you will see your 3D lights instead of the stock ones provided originally.

Re: Aerosoft PBY Catalina config request
Many thanks guys for makeing it simple for me now I do understand so Thanks again kind regards Mike
Re: Aerosoft PBY Catalina config request
That helped ME out, too! Thanks for posting that!
Just the other day I had noticed how... "dim"... my Catalina lights looked. No wonder why!
I fixed the cfg file tonight, according to this thread, and the lights BEAM now, as they should.
Thanks, guys!

Re: Aerosoft PBY Catalina config request
A lot of payware developers are now providing the A2A 3D light data as a remarked out feature so you will start to see this more often. Obviously they cannot make the A2A lights the default as not every one has them (yet ) and as the actual lights are a payware item from A2A they cannot provide the light files themselves.

Re: Aerosoft PBY Catalina config request
An user in the Aerosoft catalina forum has posted some better coordinates for the lights on the rudder (light.5 and 6):
light.5 = 3, -39.5, 0.10, -3.75, fx_shockwave_navwhi_l_old //On Rudder
light.6 = 3, -39.5, 0.10, -3.75, fx_shockwave_beaconh_nl//On Rudder
light.5 = 3, -39.5, 0.10, -3.75, fx_shockwave_navwhi_l_old //On Rudder
light.6 = 3, -39.5, 0.10, -3.75, fx_shockwave_beaconh_nl//On Rudder

Re: Aerosoft PBY Catalina config request
Be careful when adding lights to the rudder. If they are located on the moving part of the rudder they will not move with the rudder but float in space instead.
