Hello,
I have installed 3D Lights Redux Update (Version 1.1) for FSX versions. I am running FSX with latest service pack. My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate SP1.
My problem:
Flying default B744 with a Lufthansa livery (problem also alive on FSX default livery textures) leads to the effect that once I raised gear the landing lights will be switched automatically as desired. But when I set the gear down again it is impossible to switch on the landing lights - no matter if day or night time. If I use the switches for landing lights in the virtual 3D cockpit, the switches will move back to "off position" again automatically after less than one second. If I use the "L-key" the same effect appears.
I observed the same problem flying a third party Airbus A380 which I customized myself using 3D Lights Redux.
The problem occured to me also before installing the 3D Lights Redux update to version 1.1 which did not solve the problem.
My aircraft.cfg:
[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.1 = 3, -223.85, 0.00, 8.85, fx_shockwave_navwhi_l ,

Has anyone an idea how to solve the problem (manually)?
Thany you in advance.

Re: Landing lights cannot be switched on again when gear is down
Hello,
sorry, but I just found a helpful information by Scott to do a work around soluting my problem in an acceptable way for the default B744:
I just defined the lights mounted at the front gear as taxi lights (#6) in the aircraft.cfg and removed the last line at the panel.cfg which defined SW-Gear-Lights.
However, the A380 problem is still valid since different switches for landing lights and taxi lights are not implemented in this aircraft simulation source code.
Best regards
Marc

Re: Landing lights cannot be switched on again when gear is down
SW-Gear-Lights? That's not a gauge. If you want the taxi lights to flip off when you retract the gear, you need to use this:
[VCockpit01]
....
gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1
gaugeXX+1=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_taxi_gear, 1,1,1,1
If the landing lights are mounted on the landing gear, then use SW Lights_gear.
As far as the A380 problem is concerned, which third party A380 are you using? It can't be the Overland package because the panel.cfg has separate switches for taxi and landing lights. When requesting help, please be a little bit more specific as to what you are having a problem with (i.e. CLS Airbus A340-600 panel).
