I am reinstalling 3D lights. After the base install do I need the 1.1 update or can I go straight to 1.2 ?

Thanks

Mmmm, no reply to some similar threads on this issue. Not a good start....

May I just install the latest update (v1.2) or do I have to install the original version and update v1.1 first? I read something about the updates not making a backup of the original CFGs... what about that?
I'm also still in doubt... :?:

Sorry guys, yes, apply the 1.2 update. I just made a note to keep this clear at the top of this thread.

Scott.

Thanks Scott!

And this means that we don't need to apply patch v1.1, right? Patch v1.2 includes it all?

This updates all versions 1.0 and 1.1 to version 1.2. I just added this to the post as well.

Re: Update: File C:\\texture\halo.bmp cound not be opened

Scott,
I apolgize for buying the product and immediatley requesting support. When I first tried to run the orginal program I received the following message, "the file C:||texture \halo.bmp could not be opened" and the installer stopped. Then when I ran the program the second time it went through without a problem.

I then tried to run the update v.1.2 and received the same message and the installer then stopped. My main issue is that I have square lights on my planes and my runway lights. I am pretty much a beginner at this. Could you please help me?

Thank you,
Jim Whitener

Thank you for this update. I wasn't very pleased with the overly bright lighting of the original download, but this update made everything look quite realistic.

I still think the cone-like beam from the landing lights is too extreme -- especially on clear nights when the beam wouldn't even be visible.

Is there a way to eliminate the cone-like beam in the clear night skies?

Tbolt,

If you reduce the cone, then you reduce the flare. It's all a balance - take here, give here, etc.

I see.

Okay, one last question...when I installed the update, I answered "yes" to the question: do you want to see the lights in daylight hours? I wasn't sure if this referred to seeing the lights from inside the cockpit [not desirable] or from outside the aircraft [desirable].

Is there a way to change the setting so that the light cone is not visible during daylight hours without re-running the install? There must be some file that I can edit with wordpad, right? :)

Thank you!

This is XML editing. Just re-run the 1.2 update and select daytime lights off.
