I just checked out that plane, very nice. There was a time in the 'early FSX Days' where that quality level would have brought in about $19.99 for it if it were a payware.Alky wrote:Has anyone done the lights Manfred Jahn's awesome C-117D??
Thanx!
If he had some time, recoded it to a higher resolution, and then brought in the 3D gauges and instruments, I bet he could actually sell it for an easy $20-$25. bill, (USD).
I used to go looking for freeware aircraft all the time. Now all I have is the T45C by Dino and the Falcon 50 for which I just liked even though the Falcon 50 freeware is pretty crude by todays standards.
But these days, if you really want to get the full blast of graphics and immersion in your aircraft, you need to pretty much buy it all.
Of course, that's assuming the computer you're using, ("You're" as in any 3rd person), is updated to the CPU, GPU, Memory, and PSU available to no later than two years or so.
Such is the speed of technology these days. In fact, I'm running some pretty potent hardware and fly FSX at 5GHz CPU speeds and yet, it's really about time to rebuild the system to the latest stuff. It's expensive, so I sell one of my systems and then build a new one with only a few hundred dollars to add.
