unknown corruption

Post by alan CXA651 »

Hi.
Last few days when shutting down , my frame rates go very low , some sounds disapear , and i get very corrupted engine failures , that are not all genuine faults , like cylinders/cranks failing while you are looking at a serviceable engine .
looking at the date file , i notice my b17 only has one date file , yet rest of the A2A fleet i have , have multiple backups , is this correct , or is this b17 dat file badly corrupted .
UPDATE :- Start the sim , select b17 , repair engines so like new , shut sim down , restarted sim , set up b17 , confirmed frame rates good / sounds good / engines good , start ASN , within seconds engines suddenly without haveing been run , show signs of detination , and sounds disappear , and frame rates slow down .
If there is NO direct link , HOW does ASN screw up the b17 like this .
regards alan. 8)

I noticed the same thing with the dat file only having one for the B-17, when all my other A2A aircraft have multiple backups. :?: I have recently purchased AS16 and was still adjusting wind/turbulence settings because the wind shear or turbulence default settings slammed my B-17 into the ground shortly after takeoff. When I went to roll back the dat file was when I noticed it. I had almost 50hrs and my engines were still in excellent condition. :(

I am not having the problems you are having though Alan with AS16.

I always start my ASN as I start the sim up before loading any flight, maybe thats the issue that you are loading in brand new conditions whilst in the sim changing temps etc in an instant causing issues.

thanks,

Hi Lewis, what about the DAT file? Is there only one for the B-17 unlike all the other A2A aircraft?

Ironically, the B17 refuses to run properly for me in FSX Steam, but runs perfectly in P3D. Go figure. :?

Hello alan,
The B-17 has only one data file and no backups are created by Accu-Sim. However, the backups that you see for other planes will give you a false sense of security. If your data file gets corrupted and it takes you two or three restarts of the game to figure that out you will now have a whole lot of corrupted backups. I posted a while back about how to back up your data files. The advantage of this method is the date and time stamp in the file name. You can very easily go directly to the last flight that you know ended will.

Take a look and maybe it is something that you can use.

Speaking of batch files. I use a modified version of this one, by Paul "Gypsy Baron" Strogen. Cheers mate.

Yes Gypsy Baron has a wonderful grasp on this stuff. I'm sure his works better than mine. Take a look at his first Alan.

I had the same issue, somehow my aircraft became corrupted. I deleted all the B-17 files under B-17 DAT file, and also deleted the update and then reinstalled them. It cleared up the problem for me! (MFS->A2A->B-17->Update)
