Regarding the P-51 - better rear landing gear tire rotation, does that mean it rolls better along the ground, or it swivels better when free castoring while stick is forward?

It had to specifically do with the animation itself.

This - THIS - is why we are fans and customers of A2A! Who the hell else in the entire community do you know, who cranks out a huge-ass patch with practically all bugreports fixed, less than a week after release?

Nice job!

Hi,

Congratulation for this new Update, a real perfection ^^
But I've a little question concerning the "Parking Brake", after one flight and when I'm in my parking, I stop my engine and when I want used my "Parking Break" with my grip impossible to activate my "Parking Break".
I can only use my "Parking Break" with SHIFT+3 and when I click on "Wheel Chocks", please can you tell me if it's a bug because before this new patch my "Parking Break" grip working fine.

A great thank's in advance for all and best regards. Olivier.

The parking brake still works fine. Don't forget about the right procedure:

1. press the brakes and keep them pressed
2. pull the parking brake lever and keep it pulled
3. release the brakes while still keeping the parking brake lever pulled
4. let go of the parking brake lever

Works for me.

I took another flight in the P-40 from Orcas to Harvey field. It flies great.

I noticed it is a bit easier to fog up the cockpit, even with the vent open during certian conditions. The flight was done at 3500', vent open the entire trip. No steep dives, only a slight change in weather when REX Essentials loaded updated weather zone. Conditions were cool & cloudy, vis ~3nm, alt ~29.97, OAT ~ 12C. Decending to TPA windscreen fogged up...opened canopy, took a few mins to clear enough to see. Reentered pattern with canopy open, windshiled began to fog up again decending to field elevation.

Cheers
TJ

You can just use FSX default key command and hit Ctrl+. (Period)

I noticed my P-51 repaints were NOT backed up, did something not install properly?

It wasn't backed up because the config file wasn't altered by the update. Same think with P-40. Spitfire's repaint lines I had to copy-paste from old, backed up config. (Or was it vice versa with P-40 and Spitfire... doesn't really matter.)

___

Nice collection of updates with 1.4.

Spitfire and P-40 seem to be free of known bugs now. At least bugs that I know of. Nice to get rid of that perpetual motion air pump bug finally.

Mustang has some minor bugs that weren't addressed in 1.4, though.

___

Example of a Mustang bug that wasn't fixed in update 1.4:

Starting up the first time after loading a flight, with mixture in cut-off... and leaving it running for minutes (or even hours) without applying any primer or mixture. (I don't think it's a perpetual motion machine, though, as it probably sucks fuel from selected tank. The sim simply ignores the mixture lever position and assumes the mixture is on "run".)

After you move it from "cut-off" (where you could leave it if you wanted to for how long you'd ever want) to "run" nothing really changes: engine might cough once but will regain regular idle. Only after you return it to "cut-off" engine quits (as it should). And following hot starts or cold starts (via C&D) will require mixture to be applied (eventually). This bug only applies to first start-up after loading the flight which is probably essential hint for debugging it.

Also, you cannot get rid of the bug by moving mixture to "run" and them back to "cut-off" prior to starting: you have to start the engine, then put it to "run" then put it to "cut-off", then set cold & dark to get rid of the bug (temporarily, for that flight only) and get a realistic engine start-up.

___

There might be more. I have to test them. Next on my to-do is to test "rock it to lock it" related gear teleportation bug and whether it has been fixed since it's not mentioned in solved bugs list.

EDIT: gear teleportation bug prevails.

Thanks for the patch! I've not tried out the Spitfire or P-40 yet, but the Mustang is great. The only thing I noticed was the Aftercoolant still returned to a "need filling" state 2 seconds after I clicked it. So I sacrificed my 30+ hours and deleted the accusim and p51 .dat files (again). Then I restarted, loaded the aircraft and shut FSX down. Restarted and flew. (I did this previously, before 1.4, and it only fixed it for a few engine hours). I'll let y'all know if it happens again...

I flew from Fairbanks to Barrow, AK (the northernmost US city) to break in Accusim 1.4. Previously I flew from Kake, AK (one of my "home" bases) to Fairbanks. Next I will fly to Nome, AK before heading to Dutch Harbor, Anchorage and finally Seattle. From there who knows!

Thanks Scott and crew for getting this patch out promptly!

Joe

Thanks for the update and a big thanks that we didn't lose our hours :D . Love the new "auto cold & Dark" start up although I still need to click on the cold & Dark to get the mags and generator off.
I've already tried out all three planes and all I can say is "Brilliant & Awsome"

Everything seems to be working fine. Is there a way to know that 1.4 is installed correctly? (Other than discovering you have major issues - which I am not! Thank you!)

We don't have any text file flags in there, perhaps we should put that in, or a little v.1.4 in the maint hangar. But, just run the installer. It's pretty robust and if anything is not confirmed installed, it will generate an error. We almost never see errors.

Scott.

Yeah, and the mixture seems to be on auto-rich even though the lever SEEMS to be on cut-off. "Auto C&D" triggers a severe start-up and running bug which allows to run the engine indefinitely in cut-off, and without primer (you still need primer to start-up).

First the bug was on Mustang only (as Mustang was the first to receive "Auto C&D"). Now it has spread to P-40 as well:
viewtopic.php?f=83&t=30321

The good thing is, now we at least have the source of the bug pinpointed so that it can be fixed with less debugging.
