Where is your FSX installed? You need to know the location so that you can point the registry repair tool to the correct location. Also if you are running Vista or Win7, right click on the registry repair.exe and click on "Run as administrator".

I had the same problem when I first went to install my A2A B-17 so hopefully I can be of help to you. My problem was that I had to replace my hard drive so I cloned the new HHD from my failing one and added another HHD just for Flight Simulators and Train simulator. I moved the entire folders from the C: drive to D: drive. All seemed OK until my attempt to install the B-17 and it could not find the FSX installation. I tried the registry repair but it still didn't work. I then tried to do a repair install of FSX but even after that the B-17 installer could not locate FSX so I bit the bullet, copied FSX to the desktop and then deleted it from my C: drive. Did the re-installation of FSX to a new folder, FSX, on the D: drive and then my B-17 installed flawlessly. (I also tried a registry cleaner prior to deleting FSX but that was no help either.) By having a backup of FSX, I was able to simply copy the folders I needed back into the fresh installation. If you need to reinstall FSX, be sure to install it in a separate folder, NOT in Program Files or Program Files (x86) if your OS is 64 bit.

It was a lot of work but so very well worth all the effort as the B-17 Accu-Sim is a marvelous aircraft!
Good luck!

Yes, FSX Gold will work well. It includes Acceleration that includes SP1 & SP2 so you do not need to install these service packs. After FSX and Acceleration are installed, then you will be able to install the A2A B-17 and then B-17 Accu-Sim. You will then need this update: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/34075223/updates/B17/accusim_b-17_update_v1.21.zip from A2A.

Great stuff.

Might require some setup since you are totally new to Flight Simulator, so the work isnt over yet but welcome to the world of flight simulator. 8)

Devlyn, here is a link that will help you install your new FSX Gold. http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic29041.html Only the first part should be all you need to follow. Come on back after you get your copy of FSX and we, the community here, should be able to get you going.
Good luck!

Do you have an shortcut icon for FSX on your desktop? It is a blue square with a white airplane.
