P-47 airspeed dials

Post by budo »

I have noticed that the airspeed indicators in the cockpit view are shown in MPH and also in the virtual cockpit view however when I switch from first view and hit "W" to change views that airspeeds are shown there in knots. Strange. When I compare the speeds the knots can indicate 140 and the MPH will show 160. I didn't think there was that much difference.
Always quite a difference between the two readings at all speeds.
This is using the P-47 N. Don't know if 47 D models are the same.

The conversion factor is 1.15.

k x 1.15 = mph

mph/1.15 = k
