Florescent Dials

Isn't it true that German aircraft had florescent paint on their instrument dials so that it was unnecessary to turn on the cockpit lights to see the instruments? In fact, did they not have "black lights" to help read the florescent dials? Is this feature not on the 219 because FS2004 doesn't support this feature? And, I do wish I could fire those batteries of cannon, sob.

Well, the Uhu was definitely fitted with UV lighting, but sophisticated in-cockpit lighting is one thing FS doesn't do well. All sorts of hoops have to be jumped through to get night lighting that even approximates what is available in combinations IRL. I have seen a picture of VC lighting modified to have a green fluoro effect in th He219, but I don't remember where.

Wouldn't have noticed except that I was doing some night flying in the Maddox Ju 88A-4 and flicked on the UV system. Since I do all my He 219 flying at night, I consider this to be a truly unfortunate lack. Lights out that cockpit is like the Black Hole of Calcutta.

Snave, can you tell where you got the UV cockpit lighting from?

I checked over at the link Nick posted but upon going to Avsim, the Library says they ain't there.

I would like to get that UV lighting, too. Uhu is a night bird.

I've left a note in that simflight post, I'm sure Vin or Kofi (Panther) will come to the rescue

Yes, cheers Nick - it's now my desktop at home (and at work!), thanks! I did send a `thankyou` via email, probably spam-blocked!

stapme,
All I did was substitute the WoP v/c cockpit lighting effects with the CaptainSim C-130 green v/c lighting effects...

Does that mean we have to buy the C-130 or can it be achieved by editing files etc?

Cheers,

RocketDog.
