Switching to P3dV4

Post by mikec »

Hi Guys.

Curious: Is there any discount offered for owners of FSX aircraft in a switch to P3dV4? Or is it a new purchase of the aircraft?

Thanks,

Mike C

Yes! The flying points that are credited to your account in the A2A store may be applied toward new purchases.

Not as such. You have to have already bought from their store to earn points, which equates to money off your next purchase, from their site. So you have to have spent money to save money next time, if you follow me.

Thanks for the replies.

I have several of their planes and a couple of the add-ons. Was thinking about switching over to P3d4. As I have a large investment in Orbx, REX, Carenado and A2A, I am trying to figure out the cost of making the switch.

Also, although I have some points, it appears they only showed up after the last purchase made on their new sight. I guess that is a 'going forward' thing.

Thanks again.

As far as I know, if you have any Carenado aircraft that have been updated to run in P3Dv4, all you have to do is download a new installer.

Open one of their .mdl files in a text editor. If you see MDLXMDLH in the first line at the start, then it's still the older SDK for FSX. All they've done is add an option for installing into P3D. If it reads PV20MDLH then that's the newer P3D SDK. But most older, simpler models still run fine in P3D and don't need re-compiling. The default P3D models for instance, still seem to be the older FSX ones.

Hi Lewis.

I 'think' I may have already done this. There are two order numbers showing in my account: The most reant, and a second order that lists all of my previous purchases.

Please advise me if I need to follow the instructions you speak of.

Thanks,
Mike

You should be all good then if you have your orders moved to the new store. You'll have some points under your account.
