When I upgrade my P3D to Professional

Post by Dale Evans »

I just upgraded my P3D v.4 to Professional.
Do I have to upgrade my A2A to make the aircraft work?

BTW -- Why is there a cost difference for the same aircraft? :?: :?: :?:

Hi and welcome to the forums Dale,

The answer is "Yes". P3Dv4 is a 64-bit platform and if you have older P3D version or FSX ones you need the new editions.
The prices, I believe are based on the differences and requirements in the licenses Lockheed Martin offers for the P3D product.

First off, no. If you already have the v4 version of an A2A aircraft with the Academic Licence, it works as normal in the Professional version. I know this as a fact because I have some from my Academic Licence days with v3, after first getting the free upgraded versions to v4 for my P3D Pro licence.

Secondly. The licences are different and cover different usage. It's a Lockheed Martin thing. They can do it, get away with it so they do.

Steve.

I would defer to Lewis or Nick who are official A2A representatives. But, in general, if you’ve seen it necessary to upgrade to a professional license for P3Dv4, then it follows you should also be running the professional version of the A2A product. But its a but of a philosophical distinction, so again I would defer to an official A2A response.

@Dale - did you add the poll about the Carbon Cub SS? Just curious if that might have been some official tease by A2A or just a joke.

In these here parts we pay close attention to aeroplane rumors... :D

But yep, I'd be in on a Carbon Cub SS!
