I was coming in on the RNAV (GPS) 32 to O60. The approach was good. However, when I was cleared for the approach i noticed that the plane was slightly off centerline.
The App CRS is 314, which I had set in the Course Deviation Indicator. I had to disconnect the autopilot and hand-fly the rest of the approach once I got it back on the centerline. Did I do something wrong?

GPS Approach Question

Re: GPS Approach Question
Seems perfectly reasonable to me. The alignment on an approach is not always straight down the runway by design. This one appears to be out of alignment by 3 degrees. Also egg data in FSX may be further out of alignment thanks to the older magnetic data from 10 years ago.

Re: GPS Approach Question
I'd recommend everyone to update their magnetic variation data by replacing the outdated FSX/P3D magnetic variation file with an updated one provided by Mr. Hervé Sors. A simple update with no ill effects whatsoever I can think of. However, this is to match the displayed in-sim magnetic headings with the charts. It would have no effect to this specific situation, because GPS RNAV lives in completely true heading world.

Re: GPS Approach Question
This is normal for RNAV approaches. You should see the runway at 1,440 on your altimeter and 2 miles away. You should be flying by hand from there down.

Re: GPS Approach Question
This can also be the case for any approach. An approach is considered "straight in" as long as the final approach course is within 30 degrees of the runway heading.

Re: GPS Approach Question
Remember the approach is just meant to get you within visual range of the runway in order to land. Landing is still gonna be done by hand in the A2A GA fleet.
