new flightsim

Post by stlkrash »

To the guys at Shockwave.

You guys build the best stuff I have seen for FS on the warbird side. And with the good news on the new sim, I would like to say this:

Since M$ scrapped the CFS series, there has not been any sim to date to replace CFS2. It's expandability and online multiplay gave it a following of many. I see alot of the old CFS2 guys on VATSIM or other servers for various gmaes. I think that a new sim that brought back the massive mutiplayer envirnoment would be the right on the ball for the filling the void left by M$. I know alot of the CFS2 guys and all the hundreds of squadrons would surely stand up to the call. Thats my feeling on a new flightsim, for what it's worth. Anybody else see this?

We certainly see the need for a Pacific sim, and also are aware of what multiplayer will bring. It's not really a matter of understanding what the community wants, it's really about what and how we can deliver it.

pacific

Post by stlkrash »

I wasn't really talking about a pacific sim, but, think of it like this.

A basic platform thats expandable by add-on. That has a global map. And is multiplayer. Yep i know easier said than done. If M$ would have taken CFS2 and reworked it, or let a company as yours redo it. I can say that in my opinion that it would be a Top Seller and reopen a lost market thet's dying for a new group sim, thats along those lines. Or for that matter use FS2004 and take out the scenery and put in the Era scenery and slap in weapons. I am not trying to rant or rave, dont get5 me wrong. I'm just voicing the opinions of those that I fly with and have flown with for years online. Oh is anyone interested in doing some group flights on Vatsim or a server like that? It sure would blow Berlin controls mind to see 20 or so bombers escorted on a round about mission... LOL

Sorry, thats the WWII fan comming out in me....<----(Lack of CFS LOL)

P.S. If I or my friends can help. Just say the word.

We're still in core development., and we can't give an ETA until we get all of these main core features to a working level. The whole history of the Flying Tigers is also so fascinating, we're spending quite a bit more time on research.

Scott,

Will this take advantage of dual core technology? Thanks and keep up the great work.

A SimHQ Exclusive Announcement: Shockwave Productions Announces Their Next Air Combat Simulation, "The Flying Tigers."

"This is a new kind of air combat simulation, based around the famous P40B Warhawk. You are a member of the American Volunteer Group (AVG) hired by the Chinese to defend against the Japanese empire. There are all types of combat situations from scrambles, interceptions, defending convoys on the Burma road, and even attacks on Japanese airfields. Many people don't know that during this conflict there were actually times when American P40's actually flew alongside British Hurricanes, which makes for some interesting air combat scenarios. The more we study this conflict, the more excited we are about this product," said Scott Gentile of Shockwave Productions Inc.
Other Japanese aircraft to be included will be the:

Nakajima Ki-27 "Nate" fixed-gear fighter
Nakajima Ki-43 "Hayabusa" retractable gear fighter
Kawasaki Ki-48 "Lily" twin-engined level bomber
Mitsubishi Ki-21 "Sally" twin-engined level bomber
Kawasaki Ki-45 "Toryu" twin-engined fighter
"The Flying Tigers" is being created for the latest hardware, including native support for dual core processors.

Scott-

How is development going? Very interested in the Flying Tigers sim. Sorry we kept on missing each other a few months back. If you still need help of any kind and think I could assist with perhaps some research or similar, please don’t hesitate to ask

I’ve also done a number of AVG skins recently that may interest you

Bump...

Any news? I only ask because I'm more interested in what is beyond Flying Tigers. As in Mig Alley 2.
