Real world Pilots
This has probably come up before at some point, but for the fun of it what are those of you who fly in the real world flying?

Re: Real world Pilots
I added them up once. I believe it was 72 different types ranging from J3 Cubs to single seat supersonic jets. ))hangarrat101 wrote:This has probably come up before at some point, but for the fun of it what are those of you who fly in the real world flying?

Re: Real world Pilots
I've flown four separate C-172 airframes, two C-182s, one Piper Arrow, one Citabria, one Robinson R-22, and one Bell 206L-3. Ten airframes, eight fixed wing and two rotor wing, and approximately 170 hours total. I need to get my logbook for the exact number.

My current mounts are a Pa-18-95, a Pa-16 Clipper and a Turbulent. Cracking fun!
Re: Real world Pilots
PPL ASEL somewhere over 400 hours.
C170
C172N and S
C162
C182Q avgas and turbodiesel, S and T
DA20 Diamond
Z242 Zlin
B75N1 Stearman
J3 Cub
PA18 Super Cub
M-5 Maule
PA-28-140 Cherokee
Flown right seat a couple of times
F33 and V35 Bonanza
CJ II Bravo (no stick time, just operated radios and set some parameters on the MFD on a couple of flights)
PA-30 Twin Comanche
Variety is the spice of life! Most of my time is in in the 172, 182 and PA-18. When someone asks you to join them for a flight, the correct answer is yes, 99% of the time.

Re: Real world Pilots
CPL w MEL, IFR rating, HP signoff...not current, ~ around 350hrs in the logbook.
As for PIC time, my logbook is a mixture of stuff, lots of 172 time, a fair amount of Duchess, Seminole, Comanche, AA-1, along with some 150 and Cherokee time. Right seat or passenger in 210, 182, 172, 170, 177RG, 205, Kitfox, and various Cherokee types. A couple of helo rides in a Bell 206 and Bell 47.
Cheers

Re: Real world Pilots
Got my PPL in a C152, then flew C172s for a handful of hours. Sadly, it's been several years since I've flown either. Just don't have the time or money for the real thing these days.
Learning to fly was one of the most memorable things I've ever done. When I look back at that time period of my life, memories of specific things I did in grad school (which I was in at the same time) are few and hazy, but I remember my first solo like it was last week.

Re: Real world Pilots
Due to personal reasons I haven't been in a real cockpit in several years.
But in my glory days, I've flown 152's, 172's, Cherokee, Beech Sierra, and as a kid, a P3-Orion!

Re: Real world Pilots
Strictly a recreational flyer.
Earned my license in a 172.
I own a Clipped Wing Cub, which is relatively inexpensive to operate and a real joy to fly.
500+ hours PIC.

How much does that clipped wing improve the roll rate?
