Considering the full wing Cub's roll rate is counted in days instead of degrees per second the clipped wing Cub is an improvement.Oracle427 wrote:How much does that clipped wing improve the roll rate?

Back when I got into aerobatics, Duane Cole was active in our community with a BF-50 clipped wing Taylorcraft. It was highly modified even to the engine and he flew a wonderful display routine in it. If it hadn't been for Curtis Pitts coming along with the plane that revolutionized aerobatics that clipped wing T-Craft would most likely have maintained superiority for several more years.thunderstreak wrote:DHenriquesA2A wrote:Considering the full wing Cub's roll rate is counted in days instead of degrees per second the clipped wing Cub is an improvement.Oracle427 wrote:How much does that clipped wing improve the roll rate?

No comparison really.
Roll rate is improved by the shorter span as well as much larger ailerons.
A real blast to fly while not causing too much financial hardship!
