A2A Development Update 4/8/18

Post by Jacques »

I understood that they were working on porting aircraft over to P3D, along with a new accusim engine, and the Bonanza as a new aircraft for the store. But the blacked out teaser with Scott obviously using an oxy mask doesn't provide any more clues about whether it is work on the much requested oxy mask option, or another new airframe (jet?) or both!

Good stuff, though. And they aren't slowing down at all!

Thanks, Patful, for the link! No idea why it doesn't show up in tapatalk!

Scott: Thank you very much for the update!

Patful: Thank you very much for the link to the YouTube video of the A2A Update! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=La9S9pNC_Sc.

Guess I'd better review the first chapter of my A2A Comanche250 Pilot's Manual for more data on the Bonanza.

Was so hoping for a DC3...maybe that's the secret project?? In the meantime, I will be all in on the Bonanza when it's released

Very nice. Glad to see I am a good guesser. This will be the first aircraft that I buy for P3D only. Bird definitely looks fantastic!

WOW! A V tail Bonanza then! :o Was really hoping for a standard tail one but this one is even better! Can't wait to have it in my hangar once it's released.
And if the first bits of audio were related to the "secret" project then it seems like it's going to be something fast and unique.

Great update. Thanks, Scott. Please keep us posted on the development of the Bonanza. I'll be a launch day customer for this, though I'm guessing it is still a ways off. More time to enjoy the Comanche :D . It will be very interesting to compare the two planes. I have read that the stall characteristics of the V tail Bonanza are what might be termed "abrupt". A video I posted on the Comanche also stated that the Bonanza is faster lower down, but the wing profile slows it down higher up. Your video also shows such features as an engine analyser, so it will be great to see how Accu-Sim deals with that, if the plane is so equipped. I like the notation on the panel stating "maximum slip duration 30 seconds". I foresee bent aeroplanes!!!

As to the first part of the video, I'm guessing the mention of 18,000, oxygen, and a new kind of Accu-Sim engine, suggests the beginnings of a jet in development. Hope so.

It really does sound like the next couple of years in the A2A world are set to be vintage ones. 8) :D

Cheers,
Mike

Yes, that's indeed a question that will maybe pop up when further development updates are due. As this specific piece of info that three engine options (STCs) will be in place, possibly together with two kinds of tip tanks, practically confirmed (at least to me) that this airplane in development is indeed Bonanza, it will be interesting to learn if these features that spilled the beans are still a part of the upcoming product. :)
