FSX weather

Post by mikequinn10 »

Is anyone else finding a problem with real weather updates on FSX? mine seems to have quit,
I'm not looking to use payware as my simming hours dont make it viable, are there any freeware (spyfree) progs that are equally as reliable as the old FSX weather?
any help would be apreciated.

Yes If I remember correctly, the 'real world weather' download in FSX was a 3rd party service. Once Microsoft canned any further support / sales for FSX the weather service died as well. Many people still think that it is real world weather, when it is actually pulling historical data from the same day xx years ago. It is interesting to see how weather repeats it self sometimes, as some days this historical weather actually lines up perfectly with the current real life weather.

This was all on the boxed editions of FSX, no idea what dovetail have done to FSX:Steam Edition.

Can some kind person tell me how to answer the bot question on the FSXWX site in order that I can register.

It asks what is the name of the top left button in ws client and I have tried all sorts of answers to no avail, hence I cannot register.

Have you tried "conne"? (https://www.flickr.com/photos/83705406@N02/25558927851/)

Hi Nick.
Thanks but that didn't work either.
Here is their question
What caption has the most top-left button of the FSXWX client?
Frankly I am at a loss and must admit I do not really understand the question.
Is FSXWX Client the page that the registration is on or some other page,I really do not know.
Cheers Chris

I believe the client is the UI pictured in the screenshot I found and linked in my post Chris. The top-left button does say "conne" on it, but maybe you could try "connect". Or perhaps they're after a tool-tip which appears when you hover the cursor over that button once you've installed the software. :?

Good luck!

Surely they would not expect you to register after you had installed the program?

I fail to see why the thing is so complicated (to me anyhow)

I will try again. Thanks for your help.

You're welcome Chris. It does seem excessively cryptic. :x
