T6 workout

Post by awash2002 »

I'm about to take the Texan out and just ring it out the power settings will be firewall forward FT 2200 rpm or max continuous but I may just go to what I've always used which is 30/2000 to me that is a good all around power setting leaned to 33 gallons an hour fuel burn

RTFM :) . Dudley has a couple posts in which he discusses power settings for aerobatic practice, etc. I believe 30" MAP and 2,000 rpm are base settings when initiating aerobatic maneuvers, such as loops and such. There are some pretty good YouTube videos on aerobatics in the T-6 here: https://www.youtube.com/user/WW2PilotTraining.

For general flying, the manual recommends 30"/2,000 rpm for climb and 24"/1,850 rpm for level cruise.

30/2000 worked perfect just got to figure out the optimum cruise for altitudes from 7000 to 9000 at 10,000 I can go FT 1850 28 gph and I get 140kts True but I am usually at 6,500 24/1950 30gph
