P3Dv4 2D Panels

Post by crippy »

Is there a way, where like FSX, I can directly drag 2D panels over to my second blank monitor, WITHOUT having to undock the panels?

Currently, all 2D panels stop at the edge of my main monitor and do not continue to the second monitor, unless I undock them.

Hi Lewis, I have tried in both with no luck. I primarily use full-screen. I've played around with the two check boxes under options-> Display: Some settings like "Auto extend displays" and "Fill empty monitors". Nothing seems to change thought, I still am required to un-dock windows to move them.

The 2D windows need to be undocked in any case. If working in windowed mode, the 2D panels will get the standard "windows" frame and can be moved to a second screen. When working in full screen mode the 2D panels need to be undocked anyway but will keep the "normal" look. In my install with WIN10 and P3D V4.1 this works as designed. Can't see any deficiency.

Thank you lonewulf, could you try one thing? When the 2D panels are un-docked could you check to see if the transparency functionality works?

On my system, once the windows are undocked the transparency goes to 0% and locked. This can make the panels quite bright when night flying, and is why I am trying to work around the undocking situation.

Well, I wouldn't expect transparency to work when windows are undocked. Undocked means that all functionality of this window is transferred to the OS (Win10 in my case). Therefore everything that works from within the simulation program is automatically deactivated. I just checked it and it didn't surprise me...
