My Sunday is going to be spent in the Connie

Post by DatDudeMIC »

I got a two leg trip planned for tomorrow. 1st leg is from CYQM - CYQX I’m going to top her off, and get her back up in the air CYQX - EGLL. The 2nd leg will put myself to the test. Its a 2000 nm flight over nothing but water. I hope nothing drastic happens. There is absolutely nowhere to sit her down at. I hope I don’t get two bored. Maybe Betty and the crew will keep me company.

It was long. I don’t think I’ll be doing another flight like that. I actually dosed off for about 150 miles, and she kept straight and level. The engines have hours and in “good” condition. So now I’m starting to keep an eye on them.

I do, and every time I fly the Connie, I always watch something but still pay attention to ATC. It actually makes the flight seem faster.

Like right now, I’m going from KHQM - KSEZ (KHQM SFO KSEZ). Cruising at FL200. It’s a 1,100NM journey. So I have my Hulu on right now.

I'm more of a reader, although I have to admit dozing off myself! If it's over an hour and a half I'm grabbing a few magazines.

I find binge watching aviation stuff is a good bonus too, like a series of ice pilots or a good aviation war film always sits well with me on the longer flights solo 8)
