PADQ - Kodiak Alaska on Final

Post by WB_FlashOver »

Hello all,
I was in the A2A Constellation from Fairbanks to Kodiak Island and snapped this photo, and a few more, while on final for 25. I was just amazed at the beauty of it. This is P3Dv4.1, FTX Global, FTX Vector, FTX Trees HD and ASP4 v6497.

Very nice! Thank you for posting. Flight simulators are getting very realistic. I've got a similar setup (P3Dv4.1, A2A, ORBX, AS4). Next big thing will be VR, with the goggles, etc.

I clicked on the large photo and set it to 100%, and the Connie cockpit with that view is beautiful.

Kodiak, AK, is one of my regular places to fly in the sim. :) No matter whether you do Comanche or Airbus, it can be a challenging airport to fly. Weather rarely cooperates that well as in your great shot!

Scott.
The cockpit in the Connie is wonderful. I should have thought of stepping outside and taking an exterior shot but I never leave my seat or the FE seat. The red cockpit is by Taildraggin68 and I love the color. It's almost cranberry and for a former cranberry grower I like it.

I just wish screenies were more HD.

Yes, you are correct, I think this is the best weather I've had at Kodiak. I love flying in/out of the Island. For some reason the clouds and the shadows and reflections off the water just made a fantastic shot. Again, I wish FS would take HD shots. You always loose some detail in the screenshot.
