Old Rhinebeck Photos and Videos

I was up at Old Rhinebeck this past weekend and snapped some photos and video on my smartphone.

I have been to Old Rhinebeck a number of times, but this is the first time that I could make it there when the weather was great for flying. It was really wonderful to see these old machines take to the skies. Most of these machines are the real deal and not replicas! Some even have their original engines.

I have titled many of the photos, in case you don't recognize what you are seeing. These are brave pilots who fly some of these machines. I spent a while spreaking to the pilot of the Hanriot who described the controls. Left hand controls roll, fine by pushing forward and back on a lever. Right hand controls pitch by pushing forward and back on a lever. They don't touch the throttle because it is too risky to take either hand off the two control levers. Yikes!

Sorry about the poor quality, but I want invest in a good camera as it will suffer suicidal thoughts after a few minutes in my incompetent hands. :)

Hi...

Great set - haven’t been there since I was a kid - late 70’s early 80’s - I’m over in Sullivan County - not too far - I should make a point of seeing it again... Thanks for the reminder !

Regards,
Scott
