Farewell, and thanks Parky!

This is the place where we can all meet and speak about whatever is on the mind.

Farewell, and thanks Parky!

Post by clarkejw »

As I live in Australia, I have not had the pleasure of seeing the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in the flesh, so to speak, but I'm an avid follower of the flight, and have been for many years.
I can't let the retirement of one of the flight's most popular pilots and characters, Flt Lt Antony "Parky" Parkinson, MBE, go unmentioned.
Here is a clip of his last flight, in a BBMF Spitfire MKIIa, and I might also point out, from what little we see from the cockpit, how accurate the A2A rendition of this iconic aircraft is, and, like many, can't wait for the P3D4 version.

I see the latest is that hes going to join one of the twin seat spitfire companies flying paying public on the spitfire flights and whatnot, so there will be plenty more hours on the Spitfire for him

thanks,
Lewis

What a dreadful thing to have to do in your retirement! Obviously a little low on cash, so he can't go to bingo, or potter about in the garden. The poor sod has to fly Spitfires day in and day out, to make ends meet.
