Flight1G5N 750

Post by xxd09 »

Hi All
I am just into the process of installing this item (GTN750) in my A2A aircraft
It appears seamlessly in P3Dv4 Cessna 182 and Comanche only
It appears seamlessly in P3Dv3.4 Cessna 172 and Cherokee only
Any reason for this ?
Explored Flight1Configurator and A2A individual plane avionics Configurator
Odd-is it my set up ? 2P3D installations on one computer but on separate hard discs
Milviz and RealAir planes are OK
Anything more I could try?

There will be updates for the GTN to fix that problem, it is not your system..
The rerason it works with A2A is the way the AC are installed .. and the way GTN looks for any aircraft in P3D V4 (I could expand on that)..

Hi xxd09, OK, I've seen this. It looks like you have your A2A aircraft installed in two versions of P3D.

What happens is that when you installed your C182 and Comanche, you installed to V3 first, which created a start programs entry called "C182 Aircraft Configurator_P3D" which points to the V3 program, probably "x:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepare3D V3\A2A\Cessna182\Tools\C182 Aircraft Configurator.exe". So far so good.

But then, when you install them for V4, it replaces the start programs entry with another, which has the same name, "C182 Aircraft Configurator_P3D", but now it points to the V4 version, probably "Your User ID\Documents\Prepar3d v4 Add-ons\A2A\A2A\Cessna182\Tools\C182 Aircraft Configurator.exe" (phew).

If you want to run the configurator to set up the F1 GTN for V3, you'll need to run the V3 version manually. And vice-versa for the aircraft where you installed for V3 last.

The F1 set up program has somewhat similar problems of it's own with the new V4 install location, but you don't need that program anyway, the A2A configurator will do all that's needed.

Hope this helps,

Bob Millar
