Can anyone confirm if the .dat files used by A2A aircraft to store persistent data are shared between FSX & P3D?
I would suspect they are, but if not can they be moved/copied for use in P3D?

They are persistent. My move to P3Dv4 from FSX found all my hours and career data was there for my Connie.

This was really a nice surprise when I switched to P3D.WB_FlashOver wrote:They are persistent. My move to P3Dv4 from FSX found all my hours and career data was there for my Connie.

That's good to hear and know that whichever I choose it will remain consistent. I have in excess of 200 hours, maybe 250 even in the Comanche it would have been a bit irritating to have lost that.
A shame the FSX pilot log is not also used or imported.

Remember to regularly back up also though, cannot tell you how many times I had a mistake or tech issue that meant starting over with pilot log and or our own .dat files or similar pilot logs for third party software.
thanks,

Re: FSX & P3D .dat files
Precisely Lewis, very important. If you are somewhat familiar with creating batch files it is not hard to make one that will back up ALL you data files in a fraction of a second. Hardware issues , airborne and ground based invisible objects that you crash in to , accidentally clicking the RESET button on the Connie , all will cost you. I start my game with a batch file that backs up all important data, launches sim, launches ASP4 and other programs. I love it. The batch file gives a data/time stamp to each backup.Lewis - A2A wrote:Remember to regularly back up also though, cannot tell you how many times I had a mistake or tech issue that meant starting over with pilot log and or our own .dat files or similar pilot logs for third party software.

If you've been around computers very long you already know to backup, backup, backup!
