Core Update

Hi All,
Can anyone provide some clarification on an issue that I seem to get when I run any core update? When it runs it fails to find some of the Aircraft that I have installed. Is this simply due to the fact that there is no update? I don't think so, as on other Aircraft that the core updater does find, it states that there is no specific update required.

I have the Piper Cub (Not Found), COTS (Not Found), T6 Texan, (Found and updated), Cessna 172 (Found and updated, although on previous updates was not found ???) and the Connie (Found and no update required).

Any advice much appreciated

Hi

Do you have Accu-Sim/COTS installed? The ones you mention automatically have Accu-Sim, but for the older addons that is a separate purchase and installation.

yes double check you have the correct products, if you dont have the Accu-sim pack for the cub theres nothing to update for example.

Hi Gents,
Thanks for the prompt responses.

I can confirm that I do have Accu-Sim for the Wings of Silver Piper J-3 Cub, Accu-Sim Captain of the Ship for the B377 and Wings of Silver B377 Stratocruiser.

From this shouldn't the core update at least recognise their existance, I wonder?

Are they all installed in the same folder

Are you an FSX;Steam edition user with the Cub from steam per chance?

Hi Lewis,
I uninstalled FSX and did what I presumed to be a clean install of FSX SE but I read on some forums that its not as straight forward as that. Anyway I simply installed my original Cub into my new FSX SE and from what I can tell it seems to work okay.

BTW I have a number of J3 folders in my simobjects folder and the WoS_B377, WoS_B377_Pregnant_Guppy, but no COTS? Yet I bought it and installed it.

Would you suggest I do a complete re-install, or have I walked into compatability issues FSX versus Steam Edition.

Hello there's no compatibility issues. When you purchased the cub did you purchase from us or through steam?

At least you got some help. My post here about updater problem got 93 lookers but no help. When I open the updater it only wants to install in fsx but I have all my A2A planes in p3d.

Ok great, remember during busy periods as noted under the forums the tech support areas will be the priority to being looked at and dealt with once a day if not more if possible. During this time the other more community based forums will be skipped in favour of support areas.
