One of my good friends and fellow Flight Simmer, Mike Gotay has received the Grover Loening Award from the Civil Air Patrol. The award was for Meritorious Performance within the Professional

Re: CAP Grover Loening Award
For those of you not aware of Civil Air Patrol, the Grover Loening is a pretty big achievement. Only about 350 of these are issued a year (out of ~35,000 senior members currently in CAP), and affords the rank of Major. It's the culmination of approx. 5 years of work (on average) and includes a lot of travel, several weekends, and most include at least one full week devoted to either a senior activity like a Region Staff College or as a senior leader at a cadet activity.
As a fellow Loening recipient, I salute Mr. Gotay on his achievement.
