Not sure but this isn't an upgrade but a new product for a new platform. P3Dv4 is not an upgrade for FSX its an entirely different platform that requires its own software.

thanks,

And I for one, will be happy to purchase this new product.
After making the switch to P3Dv4 from FSX_SE I've been missing Accu-Feel!

God Speed! :-)

I understand that what you guys are doing is way more involved than your average add-on developer. So the the upgrade to V4 means more work for you all to update the products. But as a general statement this just doesn't sound right to me. If that were true add-ons wouldn't be backwards compatible, which for the most part they are. As far as I know Prepar3Dv4 is still Microsoft ESP at its core. It certainly still very much looks and acts like a prettier version of FSX.

it may still appear as just a shiney version of fsx/esp, however an awful lot of back end stuff has been changed. The easiest comparison i can think of is its like using fs9 aircraft in fsx, they might seem to work, but they'll always have issues and will never work 100% in all aspects like a native model.

As an avid simmer, I have spent in hardware more than €3000.00 and in all kinds of software (from FSX to P3D, from a few GA aircraft to expensive warbirds; the sceneries that I have bought over the past 8-10 years...!) at least 1,000.00€, over time. Yes a hobby is - by definition - expensive, a luxury. But it gives me a lot of relaxation and fun. Even the frequent installations (HW, SW, Apps,...) are part of the hobby. If I had a model railway, I would be constantly rebuilding, adding, modding. And it wouldn't be less expensive! So what's the difference?!
I do not approve of the penny-pinching attitude of several people here. If I have this hobby, and not much money to spend, I have to be content with the standard offering (like the car I buy); if I have the money to spend, or if I am willing to save on other expenses in favour of my sim, that is my decision.

And I have yet to see exorbitant pricing either in the hardware or in the software sector, so I am happy ( and if there should come a point in time where I feel that I am ripped off by certain sellers/producers, why, I am not going to buy their product ... and live with it).

Looking forward to exciting new developments in our sim world (new sceneries, new hardware, VR versions,...)!

A2A needs to make a profit to stay in business...
simple as that...I agree that this will be a new
products and I trust that it will be reasonably
priced....if not, then don't buy it...

Well the best analogy is that just because you can hammer a triangle through the square cut out in the toy doesn't mean its suppose to be like that or that it wont eventually break the toy.

This is why its pretty much universally advised by developers to only use P3Dv4 SDK built for Software on the platform or face potential platform reinstalling big issues.

thanks.

+2 Bumpity bump
In my impatience I even tried the dll from FSW but it didn't work.

The two things I'm looking forward to the most for V4 is this and FlyInside.
