Lancaster EE138

Post by Tomas Linnet »

Just wanted to share this with you guys: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/ub8u5lbdesxgers/ee138.wmv?dl=0

Lancaster EE138 was shot down in September 1943 just a few kilometers from where I grew up. I visit the crash site a few times every year. In 2010 RAF BBMF had a flypast scheduled, but due to a faulty fuel system on PA474 it was cancelled, I was not a happy boy, luckily BBMF rescheduled the event for 2011 and the video above is something I put together to cherish this moment, and honor these brave young men who now rest so far away from their families. more info about EE138 can be found here: http://www.ee138.net/index.html this site is created and maintained by the relatives of EE138's crew

Lest we forget
Kind Regards
Tomas

Thanks for posting this Tomas. It's moving to see that the crew of E for “Easy” are still remembered and honoured by local residents.

Regards,
Nick

Beautiful stuff, thanks for posting and for the links. Those must be some emotional memorial events. I always end up with tears in my eyes when I've been to any of the local ones here, Thorpe Abbots, Leiston etc
