FSX B-29

Post by FireRescue85 »

Hey guys,

Looking to add a B-29 to my fleet. Anyone able to point me in the right direction? Having trouble finding any models online.

Tks,

Virtavia has one or you might be able to find a copy of the old Shockwave Heavy Bombers and Jets. I desperately want an Accusim or even Aircraft Factory B-29 and have looked at the Virtavia several times in the last few months, but can't bring myself to buy it. I've flown too many A2A planes for too long to go backward!

That's the only one I've been able to find, and I can't bring myself to buy Virtavia yet. I feel like A2A has set the bar too high and I'll be disappointed with the product, and unfortunately there aren't a lot of reviews about the Virtavia B-29.

I would love A2A to do an accusim version of the B-29, like they did the B-17G. The Superfortress was involved in one of the most important and controversial events in human history, and A2A would give the aircraft the respect it deserves.

If you have FSX:SE, there is a B-29 DLC at Steam Store for $13. It appears to be the Virtavia product stripped down to just a generic base model (no extra paints, no Enola Gay). http://store.steampowered.com/app/471899/

If it is Virtavia, free repaints are here http://www.mikesrepaints.com/ and I'm sure elsewhere.

The full Virtavia product is close to the same price as the A2A WoP II B-17G without the AccuSim pack, and roughly comparable in quality and features -- meaning it meets or slightly exceeds the stock FSX benchmark. You can read the B-29A manual here: http://www.virtavia.com/gallery_B-29.html

AccuSim has spoiled us all, to be sure. :)
