FSX Scenery Load Manager

Post by speedy70 »

Recently somebody (It may have been Ron) posted about a program to control what scenery is loaded at any session in FSX.

What was the name of the program and where can I get it?

Cheers Chris

That would be SIMStarter NG (which is good for P3D v3 as well).

There's a useful guide for it on YouTube:

Yes, I like it. Once you work out how to use it you can set up profiles with whatever scenery areas and settings you want.

Graham,
I would imagine it can save on loading time and frame rates.

Are you using the free one or the paid one?

Yes, loading time depending on how much you are loading and obviously frame rates depending on settings. I have the latest (payware) version, SIMStarter NG. The older SIMStarter is freeware. I don't know how much difference there is between the two, other than NG is P3D v3 compatible.

You may also want to have a look at SceneryConfig Editor at Sourceforge - https://sourceforge.net/projects/fs-sceditor/ (Freeware)

I have both the SimStarter and SceneryConfig editor and personally prefer the latter - easier to use.

I now have both!!!
I had the scenery config editor before and think it is great.
I have not tried the other one yet.
