Lockheed Constellatation problem

Post by pmesmer »

Hi folks____ Pete Mesmer here____ still having installation problems with the Connie. I have read so many great comments about this airplane. I really want it in my hangar along with all my other A2A airplanes. I have received several comments about the problem but none seem to help. I am not knowledgeable enough to know which ones are good and which are bad. Anyway, I wonder if Scott or Lewis has read any of them and would be willing to add their comments. :?

Hi Pete.
You don't tell us what your problems are or what simulator and system you are using.
Then we can help you.
Cheers Chris

Hi speedy. He has an active thread in the Connie forums where various members are trying to troubleshoot.

Good morning_____ didn't mean to confuse anyone. Just thought I might be able to attract the attention here in the lounge of someone that had not seen my Connie thread. :)

I have bought a backup disk thinking that this would solve the problem. Once again, I installed the program using the disk. The install directory is C:\program files (86)\microsoft games\microsoft flight simulator X\. This is the default directory and I've used it to install all my A2A airplanes with no problem. Once again, the program installed normally and my computer said the program installed successfully. ONCE AGAIN I opened FSX and the airplane is not there. I have paid 60 bucks for this airplane plus the cost of backup disk and have nothing to show for it. If you think I'm angry, you are right. This post is also on my Lockheed Constellation tech support thread for any that choose to take the time to go to that thread and read it. No more A2A airplanes until this situation is resolved!

Are you using FSX Steam Edition? If so, that install path is incorrect.

Where did you purchase the aircraft from? A2A does not sell physical media from their store. Perhaps the install media you have acquired is corrupted?

Is there a folder for your Connie in the Simobjects directory? If it is there, it is peculiar that the aircraft is not appearing in your menu... Perhaps if you filter by manufacturer so only A2A products appear?

I purchased the airplane and backup disk from FS PILOT SHOP on the internet.
There is a folder for the Connie in the simobjects directory. When I'm in FSX, I filter for A2A aircraft only, also by manufacturer (Lockheed), also by commercial airliner and finally for 4 engine prop aircraft. The airplane just isn't there.

Hello Pete - as I posted in the other topic you started, could you post a screenshot showing the contents and directory structure for you Connie folder? It may give us a clue as to what's going on.

Thanks,
Nick
