Nice to see a Danish band On your top 5 :D

EDIT: My wife just won us ticket for a Carpark North concert Thursday this week, absolutely fantastic. I have never seen them live before, I've heard some live recordings and I've always been impressed with lead singer Lau's vocal on live performances and he(and the rest of the band) blew me away! they were sooooo good!

Oh man I love Music threads. Always fun to find new music, and even find people who like the same stuff you do.

Been listening to a lot of these guys.

I've been listening to A lot of Linkin Park lately. I suggest giving his songs Numb and What I've Done a listen.

So...I went to see Amaranthe last weekend, and they were absolute awesome!.
My favourite track is Boomerang:

luckily that was on the setlist as well as almost all of my other favorites. I had Amaranthe on repeat in my car since I first heard about them back in February. I'm a total fan!!
Kind Regards

I've know Darius Rucker for a few years, I meet him when he was in college and I was in hight school in Columbia SC. I know he won't remember me and that's ok. I would hang out in a bar in five points that he played in. He was in Hootie and the Blowfish.

I'm still listening to Amaranthe almost every day. I saw an interview on YT the other where the question: "what style of music do you guys play" came up. Guitarist Olof answered he read somewhere that a music writer called it "Death Metal Pop".
I agree with Olof and the music journalist.
What do you think?

I spend quite a bit of my proffession as a pianist promoting living classical composers, so here is my plug for the Norwegian composer, Mark Candasamy:

A piece called "Besessenheit", which means obsession. It fits all of us A2A-ians, right?

Nice to hear a classical music reference. Thanks Medtner. Any relation to Nikolai Medtner? He's one of my favourites in the late-romantic piano genre. I prefer him over Rachmaninov.

Difficult to choose favourites. Taylor Swift is a bit of alright. Bela Bartok. Shruggy Ji.

Gotta mention Stockhausen's Helikopter-Streichquartett though. Not a favourite of mine but, its aviation.

He was keen on choppers.

Nikolai Medtner, indeed. My favourite composer of all. I've played lots of his works. A particular love for me is the Night Wind sonata op. 25 no. 2.
If I needed to stay forever on a deserted island I'd survive nicely with the score of that sonata.

I play a lot of contemporary music (in fact I'm on a tour these days with an ensemble, playing exclusively contemporary music). But the Stockhausen kind of crazy is not for me. I like my harmonies, humanly understandable rhythms, and the occasional melody. :-P

Incidentally, I have actually heard/witnessed the Helicopter-quarted live. I heard that whole opera, "Mittvoch", in Birmingham a number of years ago. Hilarous and interesting experience, but I probably don't want to hear it again as long as I live. :-P
