apologies if this has already been asked...: i was wondering if you are planning, or would consider making different variants of this aircraft. been looking at a lot of material on the Connie in preparation. getting quite excited for this one. learning about the extreme variation between models. would be nice to make trans-Atlantic flights in a Super L-1049. just sayin'.

Hi.
It is not the normal way A2A do things , they make one varient usually , they chose the 049 original model , as they said it had beutiful lines , that where spoilt in later streached versions.
So dont expect anymore variants , if it happens rejoice , if they dont , then just enjoy the 049 .

...which is a shame since the 649/749 has the same airframe and therefore looks almost identical, but has the range for the long-range schedules that the Connies were typically employed on. The 049 does not and can barely make a westbound transatlantic leg.

Producing a 649/749 would require changes to engines, fuel tankage and instrumentation and thus is not a simple re-work, but would result in a much more representative simulation. Still, I doubt there's the financial incentive for A2A to do the considerable extra work required. It's another frustration for classics fans since the PMDG DC-6 due for FSX/P3D is also a short-range version and thus of limited use for classic-era simulation.

Also, access to the real aircraft. So far, all the data collection I've seen, A2A used real equivalents of aircraft they're making, hence the accuracy.

Fortunately, they'd only need to go as far as VA...
