I think it's gonna be a bigger plane than a Beech D-18 or the Lookheed Electra also.
Thog10 wrote: A Connie also seems quite possible, but I wonder if the A2A team would have access to a flying example. That seems to have become prerequisite for them.
There is a flying Connie in Switzerland. Operated by the Super Constellation Flyers Association and sponsored by Breitling. Taking Scotts visit to Europe or maybe Lewis getting all the intel on the Connie
Thog10 wrote: Starliner: The Connie's (bit) bigger sister. Isn't one being restored to flight status?
Yes there is one. Lufthansa Technik is doing this project and it's going to add to the Junkers Ju-52 they already have (which would be great also btw  )

For me, a modern flight simulation is very much about "living, breathing machines" and with only two of those things purring, we could get deeper into each one's personality. Not to mention the easier physical setup to properly control them both! :)

Another reason why the DC-3 would be perfect :) I'm just hoping at this point. Kinda feels like it won't be the DC-3 though.

Yes, DC-3 would be my favorite too. :)

I'm not sure one could say it maybe is the most legendary airplane of them all. It is one of the very few almost perfect designs, and for its own great share, it was making the air travel to reality.

As I said before a DC-3 or a Constellation would be awesome.

I think I'd have been happy just to see an upgrade for the Stratocruiser, let alone a completely new COTS model. Talking of which, it's going to be terribly disappointing for the DC-3 and Connie lovers this weekend, when the curtains are pulled back to reveal....

If I'm not going to get my civilianized B-17, I'd be on board for a York.

EDIT: Whoops! Scratch that. Lancastrian. I'm good with that, too! 8)

 MIND BLOWN!!
After reading the entire post I don't know what to think anymore. So many compelling speculations.

How exciting. I'm pumped to see what it is. ...and who's right

Unfortunately I'll be on my way to China starting Friday. If I can find some wifi I'll try to catch the stream and the sale.

Thrilled to death to hear the 377 is getting some TLC! Can't wait to see what other transport category aircraft you have under the sheet so to speak. I mentioned in a previous post that I was crossing my fingers for another big transport style aircraft. :D

With apologies to Robert Frost...

We dance round in a ring and suppose.
But the Aircraft sits in the middle and knows.

With this being an A2A aircraft we're speculating about I'm sure there will be absolutely no reason for disappointment even if it is not one's "dream" aircraft

You are cruel man!! ;-)

I'm really looking forward to this :D

A Lancastrian would fit the COTS comment and then the military version later :-)
Kind Regards
