Hey all I thought I would post this in a new topic so it would have a chance for everyone to see it. Some had said they wished they had a ww2 carrier to land the zero on well here you go:

http://flightinfo.ens.ne.jp/FS_KBT/yanco.htm

In the read me it has the lines you will need to add to the cables program and you can land on it. You can also take off from them as well.

The package does have some issues. The readme's in the download doesn't give very much info about the freeware.

Anyway enjoy the shots, and i can't wait to get the jap fleet installed.

Thanks for the reply

All i need to do is find the same acft.,in the screenshots for download for FS9 that i can fly.I guess it's the Grumman F4F Wildcat. The one in the readme of the download is an F4F TBD,SBD,i guess that is the model of the plane used?.

can you tell me where i might find the plane on the flat top?.

are you asking where in the files the planes are or where you can find a plane that is like them to fly? I know there is a donationware wildcat over at simouthouse that is pretty good. The VC isn't that great but the plane model itself looks pretty good.

I have a question about the KBT carrier fleet

The few shots you see above everything installed ok,the Midway pack that is.

On Tuesday i installed the Japanese Imperial Fleet.

I know have a flatten terrain problem. When i start the sim and select either fleet carrier, everything is normal. When i takeoff and head to the other fleet carrier, when i get there any of the three carriers i go to i see a big square wall of water on one side of the carrier all the way up to the deck, which has something to do with flatten terrain.

In reverse order i come back out of the sim and go into it again and start at the fleet that had the problem, and everything is normal,i take off and go back to the other fleet carrier that had no problem, and i know has the same problem as mentioned above.

I did copy and paste the flatten terrain and added it to the Japanese config,so i had flatten terrain in each fleet.I still have the same problem.

The readme that comes with the download, doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, and there's not a whole lot to the readme overall.

So if anyone out there has downloaded and installed the KBT Midway fleets,do you have any idea what the problem is and how i can and what can i look at or correct in the configs?.

Again which ever fleet carrier i start on everything is normal until i get to the other fleet carriers where the flatten terrain problem is,and the same in reverse order.

All the other ships with each of fleets there are no problems, only the carriers.

Thanks for any assistance.

George

I believe to solve that problem if I'm not mistaken you have to have them order correctly in the scenery addon list under settings.

Hi,
There has been much discussion about the flatten problem in a past thread at the Sim-Outhaouse a few weeks ago.

The flatten file needs to be above the midway file in your scenery list. I only have the Japanese side installed at the moment.

People who have installed both often have a flatten problem after they install the second side which ever that may be. One way that a few people have solved the problem is to rename the flatten files _US and _JAP at the end of each file. It appears that the flatten file for each side has the same name. No one had analysed the two files to see if they were the same last time I viewed the topic. But with the renamed flatten files above thier respective sides seemed to solve some peoples problems.

If anyone can analyse these flatten files to see if we really need both may be a help to others.

Cheers

There some new flatten files with the Midway US package, I just add the US flatten files to the Jap flatten folder and overwrite the old ones. I also delete the DAT file,FS will make a new one. MAKE SURE TO DO THIS. Then there should not be any problems.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!

Sadly, after trying all, I still have problems.

The best that I've found is a combination of renaming the files and then installing in four folders... Midway US with the flatten US above it and then the Midway Japan with the flatten Japan above it...

This way, the anomoly is not as bad, but there's still an anomoly alongside the carriers when I start in one scenery and then jump to the other. The one I start in is always fine and the one that I jump to always has a problem.

So, the problem is less but not gone.... Maybe other suggestions will come along....

It's too bad really.... it's a nice scenery pack!

Thanks again for the help!!

I tried using the two flatten folders at first, still had some high water, so I moved all the files in the US flatten folder to the first - JAP- flatten folder, overwriting the originals. Then I had problems with aircraft starting below the decks. So I deleted all the scenery dat files and now everything works great. Hope this helps.
