Walk around for A2A planes not displaying correct views

Post by mikec »

Hi All.

Tried to run DX10 Preview which failed; went back to DS9. Problem is the walk arounds no longer show the correct views.

What is the easiest way to fix this? Reinstall the aircraft?

Thought I'd ask before doing it.

Thanks,

Mike

Are you using EZdok?

No. I'm not using Ezdok. This seems to have been caused by installing DX10 Fixer 3.3. I couldn't get FSX to run in DX10 at all so I unstalled it and went back to DS9.

Thx
Mike

Hello,

dx10 wouldn't cause this. What other add-ons are you using?

thanks,

Hi Lewis.

Resolved this problem by reinstalling the A2A aircraft. Everything is working fine now.

Just for information:

Everything had been working fine for quite a while. The only addition was DX10Fixer. FSX would not run at all just CTD in DX10 Preview mode; DX10 Fixer didn't help.

Uninstalled DX10Fixer and switched back to DS9 and everything was working fine - until I tried the walkaround. The interesting thing was the aircraft.cfg files had the correct cameras in them however, the views were definetly not the walk-around camera views.

This install has been on the computer for over a year so, there may have been some other add-on that was the cause of the problem, and DX10Fixer just highlighted it. I used to run in DX10 however had a lot texture problems and have been on DX9 for over a year. I heard that AMD had fixed the problems so I thought I'd try it again.

This problem is defintely not related to A2A nor DX10Fixer. Both of them are great products. I have not had any difficulties with the A2A products I own. In all probability a complete reinstall would probably fix the DX10 problem.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Please mark as resolved.

Gigabyte Z68-UD3R-B3
Intel Core i7-2600K CPU
8 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM
Gigabyte Radeon 6850 1024MB GDDR5 SDRAM
250 GB OCZ Agility4 SSD (Windows 10 only)
250 GB Crucial SSD (FSX only)
120 GB Patriot Pyro (REX Only)
WDC 3TB SATA 3

DX10 used to work when I reinstalled FSX:SE + Orbx Scenery and A2A aircraft as well as a few other Carenado Aircraft. Had a lot of problems with textures breaking up which I understand was the result of the AMD Radeon drivers. Switched back to DX9 and ran fine for the past 9 months or more. Recently read where the Radeon driver issue had been addressed so thought I'd try it again.

Switched FSX to dx10 Preview and CTD as soon as I started a free flight; installed DX10Fixer 3.3 and CTD before FSX loaded. Switched back to DX9 and uninstalled DX10 Fixer and that was when the camera problem started in the 250,180 and C182T. Reinstalled the planes and everything is fine now but DX10 is still a dead issue.

I imagine a full reinstall would fix the problem. If you know a .cfg that can be edited, let me know.

Thanks again,

Mike C

Not sure what to suggest, I know ATI are somewhat known for dodgy drivers and I've personally always used Nvid cards

It's all working again following the reinstall. If I ever figure it out, I'll let you know.

Thanks for your time.
