I was happy to get that hit. That was the first time I had flown that plane in CFS3 and the first attempt at dropping a fish!

It was a good hit too....just aft of mid-ships and right in the engine room!

Neat, I picked up the boxed CFS3 yesterday at the whopping price of £2 :D

Does the disk version need any patches, do you know? That terrain mod looks pretty cool - where can I get that if possible? Looks like i'll have to do some shopping here whilst I'm at it.

You might want to check the version you have once it is installed as there are a couple of updates for it.

If you navigate to your install folder and then right click on the CFS3.exe and select 'Version' it should say '3.1.0.30203' if it is already patched up to the latest level. If you don't see that number you will need to patch it.

Patch 3.1 and 3.1a can be found at the following website.....

http://www.microsoft.com/Games/combatfs3/downloads.aspx

Apply patch 3.1 first and then 3.1a.

Looks like I will have to download those terrain mods, looks much better than stock.

Lewis what are your PC specs, do you run on a dual core and what number are the sliders on for the terrain.

I would like to upgrade my PC but are still worried about getting a dual core as I have heard various reports about CFS3 not working very well on dual core PC's.

With the MAW and OFF mods being developed I am looking to a long future for CFS3.

cheers markl

Working in the day in IT I am lucky enough to be able to get various bits on 'the cheap' and have access to some of the brand new stuff coming out. As it stands here is my system;

WIN XP PRO
Intel E6750
2GB RAM
ASUS P5K (P35 chipset)
8800GTS 512 (G92 based chipset, GTX speeds)
22Inch Widescreen TFT

CFS3 @ All 5 + composite mip's OFF for even further details on the ground.

NB; JohnoUK has mentioned an upgrade to his mods is currently in the works adding varietion in the trees, bushes etc. Its looks good.

Well, I registered over there and had a look around. All I could find was variations of the mod, I can't seem to find JohnoUK , what are the names of the scenery, terrain mods you are using? maybe I can find them that way
.
I must be missing something as per usual.

His 'handle' over there is 'johno_UK' and you can search for his stuff by author name in the add-ons area.

I just did a search for you and here is a link to all his stuff......

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?l ... e=johno_UK

You will need the following packs for the scenery Lewis and I are using.......

jbsceneryv2.zip

jbsceneryV2part2.zip

jbsceneryV2_high_res_tiles.zip
