Parasitic drag

Post by freedspeak »

Does the release of the bombs and drop tanks affect the parasitic drag on the aircraft?

No, not in FS9, but it is modeled in CFS3.

There are a lot of good ideas in CFS3, it would be nice to get some of them into FS9 if MS could avoid damaging the existing flight dynamics engine. They apparently "simplified" the CFS3 engine to a great extent in order to incorporate the effects and the extras like bomb and drop tank drag, since that eats up a lot of processing power.

They have two separate teams producing their Flight sims, Snuffy.

Perhaps they should lunch together now and then.

The MSFS series as shown by WOP has a greater potential than the CFS series for becoming "ALL it SHOULD be" as a combat Flight Simulator.

... and SHOCKWAVE has proven that they have the knowhow to bring it all together.

Their FIREPOWER approach plus Wings of Power Approach lack only the role playing type of scenario that exists in their upcoming B17 III, The Legend Returns, to wrap it all up in one package.

It is their team that should be lunching in the Microsoft cafeteria!

Are you kidding AC. We can't have Scott giving away their secrets to MS.

Unless of course Bill buys "Fuddy Duddy" and gives it to Scott. Then that might be a fair trade. :D

I appreciate the thought of buying "Fuddy Duddy" however after spending so much time in the "Warbird" community, I'm more of a "fighter" type of guy!! :)

I do fly the 17 once in a while tho to get an idea of what it was like!! In real life, been around them quite a bit unfortunately never got a chance to get a ride in one.
