Post by bahbee »

So far, I have every plane you've released for FS2004, and they're ALL fantastic!! Is there a firm release date for the "Jug"? I wanna fly it, I wanna, I wanna!!

I want it first! You have to stand in line behind me! I'm older, I claim seniority so I get it before you! It's MINE, MINE ALL MINE! PHEWWW...I feel better now! I'm in with you guys. I can't wait for this bird. Nothing compares to ShockWaves materpieces! The P-47 is going to be their best work yet. It's the most beautiful plane I've ever seen. I just hope it gets here SOON! From Washington.....LAST IN LINE! I'm sure they'll find a way to make us all happy, :) We need to get all the Jug lovers together after its release and fly a big formation! What a pretty picture that would be!! Semper Fi, MudMarine

We could do a mission with some people flying the bombers (B-17, 24, and Lancaster) along with escorts of the P-47's and Mustangs. And this whole big allied formation could be intercepted by players flying the Fw190 :P
We could set it up on the netwings server. Depending on how many people show up it could be lots of fun :D

Alright lets start working on it!! Some B-17's in formation, escorted by P-47's. Off in the distance 5 or 6 FW-190's. We'll need times and possible servers. A list of pilots and when people are free. All this depends on when the "JUG" will be released. The pictures should be taken over Berlin, or some such German city. Just think about the pictures and video that will come out of it. Maybe even a mini-movie. FUN, FUN, FUN!! Semper Fi, MudMarine

You said the magic word... Seniority!

I'm going on 84 in January and I want to be still around to fly it, so "after me you come first! "

Hey, this idea about flying in huge formations sounds good!! Why stop at just one event? Let's start a virtual WW2 group! I belong to West Coast ATC and I just about betcha we could set something up there, folks. You know, get together and fly once a week or something...

Whatta ya think, eh?

PS: I don't care if I'm first in line, long as I get me one 8)

Scott, can you give us a to give us a bomb dropping capability for the B17's and P47s as a follow on product?

Along with fixed, flexible and turret gunnery ; FX and damage capability on the ground,... and a workable synchronous bombsight?

This great idea first sprang from the fighter unit organized by Wayward Iain, Ken and myself when B17 II was being developed. The fighter wing pages are still in existence on Ken's web site , last time I looked.

The project was shelved when B17 II multiplayer was scrubbed., but can certainly be revived.

SNUFFY:

How about building us Steeple Morden as a base for our Jugs?

That way, we can reenact the historical testing of the P47's as the Steeple Morden Strafers. (Who developed the tactics used to isolate the battlefield prior to, during, and after D-Day!)

They were chosen because they used to strafe German airfields and other targets while enroute home after escorting the B-17s.

I've been involved in this scenario for a long time...Ken was our Wing Commander, Iain was our Adjutant and I was Wing Ops, Plans and Training officer.

The scenario includes fighter tactical doctrine, Standard Operating Procedures and an Operational Training Unit to teach the subjects to the fighter pilots.... This in addition to the escort flying , as was mentioned above by mudmarine and redrooster.

It is a viable plan... at one time we had three squadrons in the process of organization and a Wing Staff. Unfortunatly they disbanded when multiplayer for B17 died, but they are still out there.

I "Know where the bones are buried", Scott.
