Possible Win10 fix?

Post by PV »

A report today

http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... 10&t=58684

suggests a shim which may fix win10 problems.
Could those with win10 systems give it a try and
report results? It would be mightily appreciated,
thanx.

Rats.

Which crash do you get? W8 had a consistent d3dx9 crash
after a couple of minutes in 3D, but I've seen several different
W10 crash types; the most frequently reported is the 3D works,
but crashes on exit so the campaign can't be updated, making
campaign progress impossible. Others have reported being unable
to run the 3D at all.

I get the Battle of Britain English text Error pretty much all the time. I got a high end Intel/Nvidia machine, with Windows10-64. However, I also get this error on Windows 7-64. It must be a case of writing to quickly to video-memory. Looking through the deep options of this utlity it should be able to correct the graphic settings to make the game work. But someone with a real underständing needs to look at it. Where does one find somebody like that?

I havent had much joy either. Still crashing on alt x at end of 3D but also crashing while in 3D.
CMIGApp::Run()
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module d3d9.dll
The requested operation is not implemented.
in module KERNELBASE.dll
This is with disclaimer that I have a dual boot W7/W10 on this PC and I dont know if installing BoB2 on both of them could be having an effect.
There are loads of options within the program and it may be that playing around with it could produce results.

I'm doing ok running 2.00 in XP SP3 compatibility mode on a 2015 cheap Win10 machine, integrated graphics. See:

I would like to upgrade to 2.06 but the download is no longer up. Anyone have the patch or know of a mirror?
