I recently upgrade to a 970 GT and a a 2560x1440 widescreen on a AMD 8350 so farily high spec IMHO.
Decided to play BOB2 after a break, patched 2.13 and - BOB2 stutters and lags even at the lowest settings to an extent which makes it unplayable. (am talking 5fps or so at 1200x800)
No luck yet with the FAQ, and followed all the install instructions - can you give me a tip where to start getting this sorted please?
Much obliged

Hopefully someone with some ideas will pop along soon. They are all volunteers here and in different time zones so any information you can post will be a great help t them and any others with a similar problem.

Hi Evil_Eb!
please would you mind putting your system specs (cpu, mem, windows version...)
and the update process you followed (install Bob from scratch, update and old installation...)

Re: System upgrade, performance drop
Hi
Am away from the machine but general specs are
Windows 7 64
AMD 8350, not overclocked
8GB RAM
Asus Nvidia 7xx GT with 4GB
Update was from 2.12 (which ran fine) to 2.13. Not from scratch.
Changing the video settings in BOB makes next to no difference. My guess is that BOB and the driver somehow don't talk well.
As I said I am very happy about any tips on how to help myself. Normally the configuration should work to get decent frame rates (doing very well on current games as e.g. Shadow of Mordor) so guess some tweak can solve this.

Re: System upgrade, performance drop
Did you run BoB2 on the new machine before patching
to 2.13, if so, how did it perform (ie can we determine
if this is just a 2.13 issue)?

Re: System upgrade, performance drop
Negative. Only 2.13 ran in this configuration. Perhaps I should do a clean reinstall to close this out
Re: System upgrade, performance drop
OK did a clean reinstall this weekend to the vanilla version. Same issue, frame rate is about 2 fps. Will now shut down all background stuff and see if that helps.
EDIT: It was the virus scanner after all! ESET NOD 32, shut that down now the game runs beautifully

Pleasure, thanks for your support. Just wanted to add that I am running 2.13 now w/o problems

Re: System upgrade, performance drop
I suggest that you exclude your FSX folder in your AV.
This way you do not have to shut it down everytime you want to use FSX and thus make yourself vulnerable.
ESET is known to degrade system performance.
