alt tab warning
Re: alt tab warning
I would guess the warning appears when something is trying
to wrench "focus" away from the game. I don't know what
sorts of things can do that other than the alt-tab command,
but I guess such things exist. You do have it set to run as
administrator, right?

Re: alt tab warning
hi much thanks for getting back - - yes its run as admin - I did have it working at full settings for an evening - when it shows the message it dispalys a debrif screen on a 3rd of he screen also a window pops up saying win7 is using a limited colour scheme - I will reinstall and see what happens next
hi the reinstall seemed to work - yes with new ati drivers - stated a campaign and the English text thing appered - is thee a fix for this - I have it set to 96 at 100 5

Re: alt tab warning
Hmm. That sounds like possibly video driver issues, but no clue how,
exactly.
The Debrief screen shows up when the display is in windowed mode,
which it shouldn't normally find its way to. (It can be enabled via
bdg.txt for doing modding work.) You do have the "Use Desktop
Resolution" option set to OFF, and your resolution selected from the
drop-down menu from that GFX Options screen, right. ...If your
display is wider than 16x9 aspect ratio (I think that only occurs
with multiple monitors, but I may be not fully up to date on such
things), you may need to enable the ALLOW_ULTRA_HIGH_FOVS
setting in bdg.txt, but I haven't heard of that issue ever causing
the display to drop into windowed mode. The "limited colour scheme"
would suggest the program can't figure out how to render in the
current resolution, and is falling back to the very rudimentary
windows 640x480 EGA graphics mode, on its way to failing entirely.
You wouldn't by chance be using very new video drivers for an
ATI card, would you?

Re: alt tab warning
Yeah, I get essentially the same thing except rarely and then well into the game,,,I forget the exact wording
but it does suggest if I don't alt-tab out at some point game play will continue,,,but of course it never does.
If it's preventing you from playing the game,,,you don't have anything to lose with a reinstall.
Not big enough of a problem for me,,,besides haven't had this sim run worth a damn in
tens years of trying up until about 7-8 weeks ago,,,so a reinstall is the last thing I want now.
