Running BoB2 in 1920x1080 in window mode

Post by hoover »

Hi folks,

I'm trying to run bob2 in window mode, but whenever I set the appropriate variable in bdg.txt, the window is set to a fixed size to 640x480 and is non-resizeable, also trying to set it to fullscreen won't work. When moving the window, the 3d content is still displayed in the area the original window occupied and not where I move the window.

I've tried both "use win desktop res" on and off, but it doesn't change a thing, the window seems to be a fixed size no matter what I set in "gfx options".

I'd be most grateful for any pointers on how to influence the "window mode" window size / 3d resolution.

Thanks in advance, Uwe

PS: I'm trying to use window mode because fullscreen seems to eat VLC player's content when bob2 enters the 3d world, and sometimes I have half an eye on my 2nd monitor where vlc has its main window.

In windowed mode you only get that one small size.
Windowed mode was made only for development purposes like placing objects in game.
A code change would be needed to change it's size.

Thanks for your reply, Stickman. Is there any way to keep bob2 from eating vlc's window content then? As soon as I enter 3d, the vlc window goes black.

As for the code change: Would this imply more changes than swapping 640, 480 with 1920x1080 in the OpenWindow funciton call? It'd be a really coold feature to have. rFactor2 runs in borderless window mode so you don't even have the window decorations anymore.

All the best & keep up the good work,

I do not know what VLC is. Maybe someone else can help you?

VLC is a video / streaming player (like winamp or win media player), I use it to watch F1 or some other recording on a 2nd monitor with half an eye... :D
