Recently, I bought both Battle of Britian II (BoB II) and the A2A Simulations Accu-sim C172 Trainer but I am unable to install either one of them.
BoB II won’t install at all. When I’ve tried installing BoB II a small window immediately appears saying: Resolution not supported?
I then have to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to crash out of it. I have not installed any update v.2.11 or v.2.12 (which should we use?).
Can you tell me how to install and get BoB II working?
Unable to install BoB II
Re: Unable to install both BoB II and Accu-sim C172 Trainer
Oh, I seem to remember this. The original BoB2 has an initial screen
that wants to be 1024x768, I think.
OK, here is a thread with a couple of different causes and several solutions
for this problem. The last post may be the one to work for you, if it is
applicable, as it is a simple solution.

The other user had a pretty arcane
problem due to some odd display driver and multiple monitor setup, but
the advice is good: you should be able to run 1024x768; it is the vanilla
resolution for all sorts of programs, so I can't imagine anyone releasing
hardware that doesn't support it. Going in to the bdg.txt file and setting
Force Windowed Mode = ON should get you in even when the system
doesn't want to give you 1024x768, although I see the guy in that thread
couldn't get that to work for him. Once in, you can adjust your display
settings as required, in the Options>GFX page, but Do NOT use the
"recommended" desktop resolution, as it is broken for widescreen displays,
which you probably have, as it is the standard now.
